The optimal width of the displayed image pair for optically correct viewing without eye divergence is 122 mm. If the screen is larger, black bars have to be displayed on the sides.
This can be done on the fly during image viewing - I know of two apps capable of doing this:
The drawing below shows the optimal image dimensions on the XREAL Beam Pro (both in mm and pixels).
The thin separator in the centre is not crucial, but helps to see a clear stereo window.
The easiest way of checking whether the settings are correct is to measure the width of the image pair with a ruler.
