Holder for the XREAL Beam Pro

back to 3D-printed Modular Stereoscope overview

The resolution of the XREAL Beam Pro screen is 2400 × 1080 px. It cannot match the Sony 4K phone when used in the stereoscope, but nevertheless the image is fairly good and it makes a nice way of direct previewing of the images taken with the device.

Note that the screen is too wide for optically correct parallel viewing - the size of the image pair has to be limited by displaying black bars on the sides - See instructions.

Tip: Although the XBP built-in software perfectly aligns the images, it places the stereo window at infinity. Re-setting the window is a simple operation - you just need to crop both sides of the side-by-side image pair. No 3D-aware software is needed for this task. Cropping 124 px on both sides of the pair (the original image is 7680 px wide, the cropped image will be 7432 px) results in infinity deviation corresponding to 1/30th of the image width. Apart from more pleasant viewing experience this also helps with judging whether the image has appropriate depth.

The batch cropping can be done conveniently for example in an app named "Batch photo editor", available in Google play store. The window can also be adjusted in 3Dsteroid.
